I uploaded our trip photos. But this is all you really need to know about Finland...
Marimekko pillowcases, OMG
Yes, I purchased much Marimekko while in Finland. And the stores are everything that you'd dream they would be--light, bright, full of great stuff, and of course so very Finnish. I watched a woman pay for her bolts of fabric with a Marimekko credit card. Concentric dots all over it. *Sigh.*

And on that note, I'm apparently posting photos from Korea due to the fact that it is taking forEVER to upload anything right now.

Me on the bullet train from Daejon to Seoul. 3 hours by bus = 1 hour by train

Lev took these photos. I love looking at his photographs--it's what he sees. He's napping in the other room right now (the one with the air conditioning). He came in and said, "I'm grumpy! And tired!" and fell onto the bed, into a deep sleep.

oh, hi, hey

We are back from our trip to South Korea and Finland. Both of us really loved Korea--South Korea is a great example of how nice one's country can be if everyone in it decides to be considerate of each other, among other things. My brother got married, his wife Sang Hee is really nice and was a terrific host. Helsinki was beautiful; it reminded us of Portland in a lot of ways, except that Helsinki has an AWESOME public transit system whereas Portland definitely does not. Helsinki is green, small, and easily navigable by foot, bus or train. Lev waited outside while I scoured Marimekko. (What a great husband!) We got back at 6pm the day before yesterday and I had to go to work at 8--I was wrecked from jet lag but feel great today.

Tonight Levy is making homemade pizza, including the dough. Woo! And we are watching the always stomach-turning "Papillon."

Below are some photos from my journey. Enjoy!

Lately it seems like my whole existence is being spent in life's waiting room. I'm waiting for my last recommendation to arrive in the mail before I can apply to grad school; I'm waiting to see if I get a job in New York before we can move there; I'm waiting to see how this interview goes so I'll know if we're staying. I'm waiting for my renewed passport to arrive. I'm waiting for us to go to South Korea to see my brother get married (June 15!). I'm waiting for Lev's and my day. It's as if the earth sighed and I'm caught in its breath.

And in the mean time, I'm here. I'm walking to work, I'm sitting at my desk, I'm looking at my cell phone. I'm writing this blog. I'm adjusting my outfit.

I can't wait until the waits are over.

Oh, I'm also waiting for this weird/cool Native American blanket I bought on eBay...

Lev's now VERY CONCERNED about all things related to bedbugs--he saw this picture and the first thing he said was, "Better wash it. Bedbugs." I love him!
